Cambridge FBO offers early baggage scanning
Continued investment has enabled Cambridge City Airport to become one of only a handful of regional airports in the country to offer passengers an early scanning service prior to departure, as part of the recent upgrade of its Jet Centre FBO facility.
Passengers, luggage and carry-on bags can now be scanned as soon as passengers arrive at the airport, enabling them to wait in the Jet Centre’s stylish airside lounge and board straight onto the aircraft with no delays.
Airport Director, Kevan Craske said:
“Early baggage scanning puts us at the forefront of regional airports and offers passengers up to the minute comfort, safety and relaxation,“We understand that time is money for business travellers and this service allows them to maximise their valuable time with fewer interruptions before boarding. We’ve made this investment because we want people to choose to travel through Cambridge City Airport for the great passenger experience we give them, not merely because we are a convenient location.”
Scanning bags by the entrance to the FBO is a key part of the airport’s strategy to offer enhanced passenger convenience in line with recent announcements to improve facilities and grow the business.
The growth strategy also includes a redesigned FBO to provide a seamless transition for passengers from the welcome desk through the executive VIP lounge, which includes modern comfort facilities, complimentary refreshments and new private business centre, as well as pilot and crew lounge. The new-look FBO facility has been rebranded as part of continued investment by owners Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group, and also includes attractive new uniforms for its passenger service personnel.
