Cambridge City Airport Update
Welcome to the first update from Cambridge City Airport – I hope it finds you well in these strange times.
Much has changed in recent weeks and we’re all living with a degree of uncertainty, so I wanted to get in touch personally to let you know the airport is here for you in whatever capacity we may be able to help.
The safety of our business travellers is at the forefront of our considerations and we have introduced various social distancing measures to ensure this, including opening up additional customer lounges in our FBO to help maintain a 2 metre distance. Whilst the pandemic affects the usual commercial aviation routes, we are very much still open for business jets and charter flights.
As of June 1st, we will be operating 7 days a week from 10:00 – 18:00 local time. Considerations will be given to flights outside of these hours following a formal request through Cambridge Jet Centre (details below).

Cambridge City Airport is not just about people and planes! Regular passengers through the airport will no doubt have enjoyed the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the biggest names in the equine world as they travel in and out of the UK to fulfil their racing commitments. With some races being behind closed doors this summer, we offer Equine Air Transport to Newmarket Races, which is only 12 miles away. If you’d like, we can also arrange your own personal limousine to chauffeur you to and from your destination of choice, to make your journey that little bit more special.
Good news to share.
As well as wishing you continued good health and assuring you of our best service, I would also like to share some great news – Cambridge City Airport was named Best Regional Airport 2020!
We scooped the top slot in SME Magazine’s UK Transport Awards. “Returning for the second year, these awards are allowing SME News Magazine to reward individuals or organisations working in this demanding sector for their innovation and excellence in their business practise as well as their outstanding performance”. You can read all about our prestigious award on SME’s latest magazine here:
On Thursday 30th April, Cambridge City Airport’s Operations team and Fire Department were proud to support the nation’s amazing NHS, carers and front line workers by taking part in the Clap for Our Carers Campaign. The teams were delighted to be joined by the crew from East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA), alongside one of their Rapid Response Vehicles and an H145 Helicopter, code named Anglia Two. EAAA has been a resident company at Cambridge City Airport since 2007, and has delivered a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service throughout the region since being established in 2000.
Our partnership with EAAA has also been noted in East Anglian Business Magazine. To find out more, you can read the article here:
